The Kicherer CL 60 - If a Stock Twin-Turbo V12 is not Enough...

Some Mercedes-Benz buyers, even those of the heavy, luxurious and overpriced CL Series, demand more than even Mercedes-Benz AMG can offer. German-based aftermarket Benz tuner Kicherer is banking that those individualistic customers will pay a pretty penny for higher performance and exquisite luxury with the Kicherer CL 60.

Kicherer CL 60 Styling - A Hit, With Reservations
Already a beautiful GT coupe to begin with, the Mercedes CL is given a total makeover that begins with sharp and clean styling. The aerodynamics kit, especially striking from the rear, is made from carbon fiber and manages to enhance the Kicherer CL 60's smooth lines while keeping the model instantly recognizable as classic Benz.
Sadly, the "handcrafted multipart 20 inch Kicherer RS-1" wheels do not go over so well. Try as the German tuner may, these wheels just do not match the overall performance styling packaging presented by the tuned CL. They would look more at home on a well-excecuted Mazda Miata or Honda S2000, but on the CL they come across as out-of-place and tacky.

Not Skin Deep - Kicherer CL 60 Performance Tuning
The AMG-tuned Mercedes-Benz CL 600 is faster than nearly anything on the road to begin with, especially for a car of its size and mass. With a twin-turbo V12, no one in their right mind would ever need a car not suitable for the track with any more power.

Great, now that we've weeded out those in their right minds, let's up Kicherer horsepower output by 53, to a startling 570 horsepower, and raising torque to an equally-overkill 668 lbs-ft. of torque. Why not, right?

Suspension is lowered by 25 mm, and handling is tightened slightly without sacrificing ride quality, Kicherer says.

The total package is a car that is both striking and purposeful, as much as a coupe that weighs as much as a Ford F-150 can possibly be.
